Meet the Artist From oil paintings on canvas, to life-like animals on rockers, Artist, LaMarr Benton has exhibited a love for creativity and wildlife most of his life. "I'm fascinated with the intricacies of how things are made, and I especially enjoy studying creatures in their natural environments," says the artist.From the time he was a young lad, LaMarr has been designing... rudimentary toys for his playmates in the housing project, his own compositions of forests on makeshift canvases, and even cars when he was a contender in the All American Soapbox Derby. LaMarr's designs and creations attest to his profound love for the beauty and harmony he experiences in nature.
As a portrait artist, LaMarr is appreciative to know that some of his portrait works may be seen in offices and studios of friends as well as celebrities. Still, some of his most gratifying moments come from the sheer delight of little children mounting his creations, rocking to their hearts' content. Among his most prized possessions are the photographs of his rockers in their new homes, sent to him by his satisfied customers, with the cards and letters of thanks for the heirloom treasure he has added to their families.
