Everybody Knows the Work of Dunn (Pearson, Jr.)
Dunn Pearson, Jr. is no stranger to the grandeur of the Network Television and Major Motion Picture scenes; from serving as Music Conductor-Composer for Fox Network/Dick Wolf's "New York Undercover" with Mtume, to producing some of the hottest Music Videos to ever appear on MTV with Artists like Mary J. Blige, D'Angelo,Gerald Levert & Tamia, The O'Jays, and others. Dunn has composed music for commercials on the Superbowl, and for brands such as Wendy's, McDonald's, United Airlines, and Kellogs. He's worked with giants like James Baldwin (Amen Corner, Broadway) Quincy Jones, Stevie Wonder and James Taylor. He conducts music workshops around the country, and consults with internationally known artists on a regular basis. So it's no wonder that it caused a stir among industry professionals when the Maestro began to focus his attention on a lesser-known TV show based out of Ohio - "The Debórah Show."
Debórah:With "The Debórah Show" being produced out of [Youngstown,] OH, and Pearson living in New York, many have wondered, 'how in the world did I snag Dunn Pearson, Jr?' My answer is simple; 'I have a great work to do, and to accomplish it, God brought me the very best.' Dunn: I actually first met Debórah online, and later, "face-to-face." I liked her energy and her commitment, and I could see her talent as a talk show host; 'Debor'ah can get 'anybody to open up and talk about anything!' When we agreed to work together, she felt I was an answer to her prayer, but actually I feel it's a pretty mutual exchange. For me, the most significant accomplishment about whatever success I've achieved, is to able to bring my experience and knowledge back to my own community and implement it there. (We see this done by other nationalities all the time.) So being the Music Director for "The Debórah Show" gives me that opportunity.
Dunn further observed that many really good projects fail because they lack the technical expertise that often only comes from having input and participation from seasoned professionals.
